PTB Convenes Tripartite Meeting to Finalize Tobacco Procurement Schedule for 2026 Crop Season
A Tripartite Meeting was convened at the Head Office of the Pakistan Tobacco Board (PTB), Peshawar, under the chairmanship of Mr. Fakhruddin, Secretary, Pakistan Tobacco Board. The meeting was attended by representatives of tobacco growers, the tobacco industry, and the management of the Pakistan Tobacco Board to deliberate upon matters relating to tobacco marketing and procurement for the current crop season.
Following comprehensive discussions and mutual consultations, the three stakeholders unanimously agreed upon the following tobacco procurement schedule:
- Swabi, Mardan & Charsadda: 08–11 July 2026
- Buner: 18 July 2026
- Mansehra: 22 July 2026
- Burley Tobacco-Growing Areas: 06 August 2026
The participants reaffirmed their collective commitment to ensuring a transparent, orderly, and efficient tobacco procurement process in the best interests of all stakeholders.
The representatives of the tobacco growers expressed their appreciation and satisfaction with the strategy adopted by the Pakistan Tobacco Board to effectively address marketing-related challenges and facilitate the timely procurement of tobacco.
The participants also commended the leadership and dedicated efforts of Mr. Fakhruddin, Secretary, Pakistan Tobacco Board, for his constructive role in facilitating consensus among stakeholders and resolving complex marketing issues through consultation and mutual cooperation.
